For much of the 2024 election cycle, I focused on politics coverage at the Times, working with reporters and editors to feature our reporting on camera and reach new, diverse audiences.

I also traveled extensively with the politics team to Iowa, New Hampshire, and the Democratic and Republican conventions, where I produced, shot, and edited video on-location.

Here are a few of my favorite politics videos that I produced:

This video is one of my favorites because it incorporates the voices of young voters, compiled from video interviews conducted by the reporter. I interviewed the reporter, created and animated all the graphics, and edited all the video for this piece.

My colleague Gabe and I shot this in ~20-degree weather with Astead Herndon, host of “The Run Up,” while in Des Moines for the Iowa Caucus.

We also shot another pre-Iowa explainer featuring another cold reporter, and an Iowa results piece that I produced and edited overnight.

I produced and edited this video overnight, featuring a reporter interview and footage that we shot in New Hampshire. It gathered 100K+ views on TikTok, and was featured at the top of the New York Times homepage throughout the following day.

Prior to the results, we also produced a “what to expect” piece on the New Hampshire primary.

We produced a series of post-speech analysis pieces from the Democratic and Republican conventions, all of which we scripted, shot, and edited on location.
