I like math! My university didn’t have a journalism program, so I decided to major in something I found to be versatile: computational mathematics. I took coursework in statistics, economics, and computer science. You’d be surprised how useful a knowledge of math is in a newsroom: from audience analysis to data visualization, it pays to have someone who knows statistics.

I’m from Northern Virginia, AKA the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
I currently live in New York City, but I’m willing to go wherever cool jobs are to be found.

Gee, thank you for asking, so considerate of you. In my free time, I’m an avid reader of fantasy novels and whatever else happens to be laying around. I also love cooking gluten-free recipes, creative writing, doing calligraphy, and ice skating.

Well, if you insist. I'm genuinely a fan of public speaking, I’m a professional calligrapher, I know morse code, I can whistle pretty excellently, I can code (more or less) in four different languages, and I used to do color guard in high school, so I can twirl a flag really well.
True story.
